Embracing Active Engagement
Doug and Peggy Person
Doug Person and Peggy Behrens Person possess every attribute one thinks of when staying engaged with their alma mater: volunteer, advocate, fan, donor, parent—even employee!
Doug, BN’75, and Peggy, BN’76, GR’96, have stayed involved with Drake University since the day they graduated. They’ve hosted admitted student receptions, created an endowed scholarship fund, and served as challenge donors for the Live Mascot Program. Their son, Ashley, JO’03, went to Drake, and Peggy previously worked as director of the annual fund program.
Doug and Peggy believe strongly in the student experience at Drake. Recently, they made a $250,000 gift to the University Center—the primary capital priority of The Ones campaign. Drake will name the wellness lounge in their honor.
“Drake has been an integral part of our lives for almost 50 years,” say Doug and Peggy. “Renovation and expansion of the University Center is vital for the continued growth of Drake and will provide a much-needed new gathering spot on campus. Drake has enriched our lives immeasurably, and we are fortunate to have the opportunity to make this gift to The Ones campaign.”
